The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that 21,789 people or 6,027 families have been successfully evacuated from their homes due to the ongoing activity of the Taal Volcano.
The Metro Manila Council donated 7,500 doses of Sinovac vaccines to evacuees surrounding the restive Taal Volcano in Batangas, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairperson Benhur Abalos said.
Aside from the Taal volcano, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) is monitoring other active volcanoes across the country.
Taal Volcano generated a short-lived dark phreatomagmatic plume at 3:16 to 3:21 p.m. on Thursday, raising its alert status to Level 3, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
