The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that 21,789 people or 6,027 families have been successfully evacuated from their homes due to the ongoing activity of the Taal Volcano.

The NDRRMC said that 5,922 individuals or 1,688 families were temporarily residing inside evacuation centers, while 15,867 people or 4,359 were located outside these facilities.

There are 26 evacuation centers that accommodate the evacuated residents. 

According to the NDRRMC, 145 barangays were affected by the unrest of Taal.

Meanwhile, a total of 4,495 food packs and 9,000 ready-to-eat meals were given to the affected residents.

Around 5,000 hygiene kits, 5,000 family kits, 5,000 sleeping kits, 477 modular tents, and 500 family tents were also distributed to the families. 

The agency also reported that around P16M worth of cash assistance were provided to affected residents.

Taal volcano has generated 35 volcanic earthquakes in the past 24 hours with Alert Level 3 still intact, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The quakes covered 17 volcanic tremors lasting one to 49 minutes. Ronald Espartinez
