General Santos City has expanded its ban of all pork meat products and live hogs, initially from Luzon, now include those coming from Davao Occidental after the province confirmed cases of the African swine fever (ASF).
Local authorities confirmed Saturday that the African swine fever (ASF) is now in Mindanao after samples drawn from 1,000 dead pigs in Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental tested positive from the dreaded hog disease.

Davao City has the highest number of deaths from dengue with 11 followed by Davao del Norte with six while the provinces of Compostela Valley, Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental have one death each. Last year, the entire region recorded only 14 dengue-caused deaths.
