Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon said that the fate of ABS-CBN and of 11,000 employees who face possible retrenchment in August rested with the Supreme Court, with Congress set to go on a break in six days.
Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon backed the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry on Saturday, describing as an “insult” the Palace position that Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) can be allowed to resume business because they are in the same category as BPOs.
Drilon added that President Rodrigo Duterte and other elderly Cabinet members like Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and Executive Secretary Salvador Meldialdea should also stay at home if the IATF policy is to be strictly enforced.
The Speaker believed the opposition is politicizing the SEA Games, noting that it’s been stepping up its media offensive even after it called for a ceasefire.
But Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, chair of the Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee, said it’s a necessary expense.
