The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is not a fan of conducting one-on-one debates as it would not be fair to non invited candidates.
Comelec Commissioner George Garcia said during the Laging Handa public briefing that media networks may launch one-on-one debates but the Comelec won’t do it.
The commissioner noted that the poll body must always be “impartial and neutral.”
Kami po ay Comelec, we should be impartial and neutral lalo na po sa halalan,” he said.
He added that all candidates should have an opportunity to share their sides on issues confronting the country. Ronald Espartinez
