A Youtube Channel falsely claimed that Senators Risa Hontiveros and Koko Pimentel were fuming mad over President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s decision to not re-join the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The YouTube channel WHISTLE-BLOWER PH uploaded a video on Aug. 1 claiming that minority senators nearly threw tantrums after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s decision for the Philippines not to join the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The video has a thumbnail image featuring a photo of former vice president Leni Robredo and incumbent minority senators Hontiveros and Pimentel with the words “NANLUMO!!”
The video description also states, “MGA DILAWANG SENADOR, HALOS MAGWALA MATAPOS MANINDIGAN SI PBBM NA HINDI MULING SUMALI SA I-C-C.”
(Yellow senators almost threw a tantrum after PBBM stood pat on not joining the ICC.)
This is FALSE.
WHISTLE-BLOWER PH used edited quote cards and showed only portions of the senators statement, which was manipulated to look like quote cards of News5.
In the complete statement of Hontiveros, she only questioned President Marcos Jr.’s decision not to rejoin the ICC, saying there was “nothing to be afraid of if there is nothing to hide,” but acknowledged that it was Marcos’s prerogative.
Pimentel acknowledged that the president’s decision not to rejoin ICC would prevail, saying, “I disagree with his decision, but since he is the President, it is his decision; which will be followed.”
