Isang Facebook user ang gumawa ng mapanlinlang na paghahambing sa pagitan ng dami ng tao sa rally ni presidential candidate na si Maria Leonor Robredo sa Pasay noong Abril 23 at sa populasyon ng lungsod.
Ang post ng Facebook user na si Jose Enrico Libunao, na ibinahagi ng 648 beses, ay nagpapahiwatig na malabo ang pagtataya na 412,000 ang dumalo sa rally sa Pasay, dahil ang lungsod ay may populasyon na 440,656.
Nakaligtaan ng post ang isang mahalagang konteksto: ang rally sa Macapagal Boulevard ay para sa mga tagasuporta ni Robredo sa southern Metro Manila, hindi lang sa Pasay.
Sa rally sa Pasay nakuha ni Robredo ang pag-endorso ng sikat na celebrity na si Vice Ganda, ilang oras lamang matapos makuha ang pag-endorso ng United Bangsamoro Justice Party, na kontrolado ng Moro Islamic Liberation Front. Natapat din ito sa ika-57 na kaarawan ni Robredo.
Tatlong entablado ang itinayo sa venue dahil sa malaking bilang ng mga sumusuportang nakasuot ng pink. Hinikayat din ng campaign team ni Robredo ang mga tagasuporta ng iba pang kandidato na dumalo at magsuot ng sarili nilang kulay.
Ang 412,000 crowd estimate ay nagmula sa rally organizers; sabi ng pulis 80,000 tao ang dumating.
Gayunpaman, ang geologist na si Mahar Lagmay – gamit ang Google maps para sukatin ang kahabaan ng Macapagal Boulevard mula EDSA hanggang Gil Puyat at ang dami ng tao na maaaring magkasya sa lugar – ay nagduda sa pagtataya ng pulisya.
