A Zamboanga City policeman named in the narco list of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa has gone into hiding.

Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, Col. Thomas Joseph Martir, refused to reveal the name of the policeman other than that he is a staff sergeant and was previously assigned with the ZCPO.

He said the policeman’s name appears in the narco list that names 357 policemen across the country who are allegedly involved in either selling of prohibited drugs or a protector of illegal drug activities.

Gamboa has distributed the list to all police units in the country “for reference”, Martir said.

Martir said the policeman plans to retire which he hopes the policeman would do soon. He added that the police officer has surrendered his issued firearms to his sister on Monday and has now gone into hiding.

He also warned other ZCPO personnel to “mend their ways and to be the model of society.” (Rommel F. Lopez)
