Zamboanga City Mayor Maria Isabelle “Beng” Climaco has proposed to the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) the granting of subsidies for the board and lodging expenses of contact tracers

Zamboanga City has proposed the granting of subsidies for the board and lodging expenses of contact tracers deployed to the different areas in the region.

Mayor Maria Isabelle “Beng” Climaco submitted the proposal to the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF), saying this would enable the contract tracers to effectively perform their duties.

Climaco said the government must provide the necessary resources to support contact tracers, who will help reduce the spread of the virus and save lives.

Six hundred fifty six contact tracers, hired by the Department of the Interior and Local Government, were recently deployed to the different parts of the region, including Zamboanga City.

Climaco also requested the RIATF to adopt common policies for the entry of locally stranded individuals and authorized persons outside residences as different local government units adopt different requirements. Jojo Mangahis
