No more noisy videoke singing in the City of Manila during daytime.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno signed an ordinance banning the use of videoke machines and other sound-emitting devices during daytime that could affect the focus of the students studying online.

Moreno signed City Ordinance No. 8688, which bans the use of karaoke machines and other devices from Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the city.

He added that his office received various complaints from parents that online classes have been affected because of the videoke sessions.

All barangay officials and police officers are in-charge to execute and monitor the newly-approved ordinance.

Violators would be fined P1,000 for the first offense; P2,000 for the second offense; and P3,000 for the third and succeeding offense.

Manila’s new ordinance was approved following the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) endorsement to local government to pass ordinances that will ban noisy activities as the countrywide online classes have begun. RJ Espartinez
