Taguig will grant families not covered by the national government’s social amelioration scheme P4,000 each in financial assistance, Mayor Lino Cayetano announced on Friday.

Cayetano said the city council had passed a P2-billion supplemental budget as part of the local government’s Covid-19 response. Half of the amount will be used for the cash grants while the other half will be for other programs, he said.

“Lahat ng pamilyang Taguigeño ay makakatanggap ng P4,000 na crisis assistance. Ito ay bukod pa sa ibang ‘assistance programs’ ng Pamahalaang Lungsod,” the mayor said in a video message posted on Facebook.

“In Taguig, we will make sure that everyone is taken care of,” he added.

Pasig earlier announced a cash grant of P8,000 to each family. Manila gave P1,000 per family. (PressONE.ph)
