Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna announced in her State of the City Address that all students of Universidad de Manila and the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila are regular beneficiaries of the Student Allowance Program (SAP) where each student receives a monthly financial assistance of P1,000.
SWS noted that the number hardly changed from the 72 percent it recorded in July 2020, implying there had been no increase in the recipients of the government’s cash subsidy between July and September 2020.
“Dahil iyan po ay naibigay na ng Kongreso, kung pupuwede nga po ay ibigay pa po iyan doon sa mga pamilya na hindi pa nakakatanggap ng second tranche,” Roque said in a Malacañang briefing.
More than 12 million families have already received their second tranche of cash assistance as part of the national government’s social amelioration program.
