Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Debold Sinas wants to implement random drug testing on police trainees to strengthen the police force’s anti-illegal drugs protocols.

Sinas made the statement during his speech on the 15th founding anniversary of the PNP Training Service on Thursday.

“On the first day, all participants should undergo the random drug test. Ang gagawin niyo diyan, alam niyo ‘yung style, first day ipon, ipunin then i-drug test…” Sinas said.

“So effectively immediately, pag mag-open tayo ng calls on the first day, maski ano pa ‘yang opening mo, after that, cordon the area then have the drug test…” he added.

Sinas highlighted that police trainees must always remember that illegal drugs will never be allowed in the police force.

“I’m hoping sa training niyo, sabihin niyo bawal na bawal ang droga. Bawal ang gumamit ng droga, bawal ang magprotect ng droga, bawal tumanggap ng suhol galing sa mga drug lords,” he said.

Sinas was known for conducting random drug tests among Metro Manila cops during his time as chief of the National Capital Region Police Office

He also promised to eliminate narco cops during his term as PNP chief. RJ Espartinez
