Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, who is also the chairperson of the Davao Region coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) Task Force, released the total lockdown guidelines to be implemented on all checkpoints set up throughout the region.

The guidelines are as follows:

  1. NO PERSON shall be allowed to enter Davao Region except for trucks with cargo and one (1) driver, no truck assistants.
  2. Cargo shall mean to include animals.
  3. Truck assistants may be unloaded at the checkpoint to wait for the truck to come back and leave Davao Region.
  4. 10ID and PROXI should divide the areas of all highways in Davao Region and assign which unit should secure the area for the protection of people and cargo travelling on the highways.
  5. Everyone can leave the region anytime but cannot come back during the lockdown period.

The lockdown starts at 12:01AM of March 19 and lasts until 11:59PM of April 1.

All land, sea and domestic air travel to the region is suspended for 14 days, and may be reduced to 7 days.

The task force said everyone can leave the region anytime but they are not allowed to come back for the next 14 days.

Region 11 comprises the Davao provinces (Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro, Davao Oriental and Davao Occidental), 1 highly urbanized city (Davao City), 5 component cities, 43 municipalities and 1,162 barangays. (Rommel F. Lopez)
