The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has started accepting the petition for registration of political parties and party-list groups eyeing a seat in the May 2025 midterm elections.
The Comelec’s advisory said that the Clerk of the Commission “has started receiving Verified Petitions for Registration” for political parties or coalitions of political parties; or national, regional, sectoral party-list groups or organizations.
Petitions will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, holidays are not included.
Interested applicants may inquire with the Office of the Clerk of the Commission through telephone numbers 02-8527-3002 or 02-8527-2770, or via email at clerkofthecommission@comelec.gov.ph, or the official Comelec website.
Party-list representatives must occupy 20% of the total seats of the House of Representatives, which should not exceed 255 seats unless mandated by law.
