More than 20 million Filipinos are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19, Malacañang reported on Monday.

Citing numbers from the country’s national Covid-19 dashboard, Palace spokesman Harry Roque said the number of fully vaccinated Filipinos as of Sep. 26 was 20,307,122.

Roque also said 43,933,886 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered nationwide.

More than 22.5 million Filipinos have been inoculated with their first doses.

As of Sept. 26, the Philippines has tallied 2,490,858 Covid-19 cases.

Since launching its vaccine rollout on March 1, the country has received nearly 70 million Covid-19 vaccine doses from various manufacturers.

The newest batch of doses arrived in the Philippines on Sunday: three million doses of Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines, which brought the country’s total vaccine stock to almost 70 million jabs.

The National Task Force Against Covid-19 said the doses would be “mostly” deployed to regions 1, 2, 3, 4-A, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 11.

Some jabs will be allocated as second doses in Metro Manila.

The country has received 69,699,340 Covid-19 vaccine doses from different manufacturers to date.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the country’s vaccine stock could reach 100 million doses by October.

The country has more than 20 million fully vaccinated individuals as of Sept. 26.

It aims to inoculate 80 to 90 percent of Filipinos to achieve herd immunity. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
