The Philippines reported 4,842 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections on Wednesday.
This brings the nationwide count to 1,118,359.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), 5 laboratories failed to submit their daily report on time.
Meanwhile, DOH data of active cases further dropped to 53,214; 93% are mild, 2.4% are asymptomatic, 1.9% are severe, and 1.4% are in critical cases.
On the other hand, the country’s recovery rate climbed to 1,046,431 with 8,312 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, inches to 18,714 with 94 new fatalities.
The DOH also confirmed that it successfully removed 30 duplicate cases from the nationwide tally, while 35 cases previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after verification. Ronald dela Cruz
