The Department of Health (DOH) reported 2,067 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, raising the Philippines tally to 580,442.
This marks the 6th consecutive day where the country exceeded the 2,000 mark on daily infections.
According to the DOH’s latest data, eight Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.
Currently, there are 33,610 active Covid-19 cases undergoing medical treatment or quarantine.
The country’s recovery rate increased to 534,463 with 144 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, inches to 12,369 with 47 new fatalities.
The DOH also confirmed it removed six duplicates from the nationwide tally
“Moreover, 30 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” it added. Ronald dela Cruz
