The Philippines’ coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) tally increased to 489,736 after the Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported 2,052 new infections, the highest since December 18. 

According to the DOH’s latest data, three Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.

Bulk of the new cases came from Davao City with 140; followed by Quezon City with 93; Cavite with 87; Laguna with 83; and Manila with 67.

Currently, there are 22,114 active Covid-19 cases undergoing treatment or quarantine.

The country’s recovery rate inches to 458,206 with 10 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, pushes to 9,416 with 11 new fatalities. Ronald dela Cruz
