The Philippines reported 1,674 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections recorded from April 11 to 17, 2022, pushing the nationwide tally to 3,683,211.

The tally is 12% lower than the infections reported the previous week, the Department of Health (DOH) said. 

The daily case average for the week is 239, which is lower compared to the 272 posted from April 4 to 10. 

The DOH updated the tally with 170 new infections on Monday. 

Currently, there are 19,923 active Covid-19 cases. 

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate climbed to 3,603,312, while death toll stands at 59,976. 

The DOH verified 200 more fatalities last week. Among the said number, 43 deaths happened between April 4 to 17. 

Of the 200 deaths, 51 occurred in April 2022 (25.5%), 21 in March 2022 (10.5%), 35 in February 2022 (17.5%), 36 in January 2022 (18.0%), 1 in December 2021 (0.5%), 5 in November 2021 (2.5%), 12 in September 2021 (6.0%), 14 in August 2021 (7.0%), 2 in July 2021 (1.0%), 3 in June 2021 (1.5%), 2 in May 2021 (1.0%), 8 in April 2021 (4.0%), 6 in March 2021 (3.0%), 3 in January 2021 (1.5%), and 1 in November 2020 (0.5%). — Ronald Espartinez
