The Philippines on Thursday night received nearly one million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine.

The 936,000 doses were procured by the national government through the World Bank.

The Philippines has received about 241 million Covid-19 vaccine doses since February 2021.

More than 72 percent of the country’s target population are considered fully vaccinated against Covid-19, but only 12.92 percent have been boosted as of March 31.

The government is aiming to have 100 percent of the Filipino population fully vaccinated by June.
