More than 1.6 million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine reformulated for kids have arrived in the Philippines.

The country received the vaccines in two shipments of 804,000 doses delivered on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Philippines launched its Covid-19 vaccination program for kids on Feb. 7.

The vaccine doses arrived ahead of the country’s vaccination drive tentatively scheduled for March 10-12 that will focus on inoculating more workers, senior citizens and Filipinos in younger age groups.

The government has procured 30 million doses of the reformulated vaccine to vaccinate younger age groups against Covid-19.

The government is aiming to vaccinate 90 million Filipinos in 2022.
