The Philippines reported 1,465 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections from April 18 to April 24, 2022, the Department of Health (DOH) said.
The infections were 12% lower compared to the cases reported the previous week.
The DOH’s weekly bulletin showed the daily case average for the week was 209. It was lower compared to the 239 posted from April 11 to 17.
There are also 726 severe and critical cases currently admitted in hospitals.
More than 67.4 million Filipinos or 74.98% of the government’s target are now fully vaccinated.
The DOH added that there are 12.9 million who already received their booster shots.
Death toll last week was recorded at 213. Among the said number, 31 happened between April 11 to 24.
Of the 213 deaths, 43 occurred in April 2022 (20.2%), 14 in March 2022 (6.6%), 8 in February 2022 (3.8%), 13 in January 2022 (6.1%), 14 in December 2021 (6.6%), 7 in November 2021 (3.3%), 4 in October 2021 (1.9%), 41 in September 2021 (19.2%), 25 in August 2021 (11.7%), 10 in July 2021 (4.7%), 6 in June 2021 (2.8%), 4 in May 2021 (1.9%), 13 in April 2021 (6.1%), 5 in March 2021 (2.3%), 1 in February 2021 (0.5%), 2 in November 2020 (0.9%), 2 in September 2020 (0.9%), and 1 in August 2020 (0.5%). — Ronald Espartinez
