The Philippines recorded a new record high on recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) at 145, elevating the total number to 2,251, the Department of Health (DOH) announced Wednesday.

Meanwhile, new cases jumped to 11,618 after the DOH’s daily bulletin reported 263 new COVID-19 infections. 

162 patients or 61 percent of the new cases came from Metro Manila, 58 cases or 22 percent came from Region VII, while the remaining 45 individuals or 17 percent were recorded across the country.

The death toll, on the other hand, inches to 772 with 21 more patients expiring from the respiratory disease. 

Singapore remains on top in Southeast Asia for the most number of COVID-19 cases at 25,346. Indonesia on its tail with 15,438 followed by the Philippines. (RJ Espartinez)
