The Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH) in San Fernando, Pampanga has declared that it will no longer accept coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients after reaching full bed capacity.

According to the hospital, patients are still waiting in emergency rooms and isolation tents since the regional hospital cannot admit them anymore.

The entire province of Pampanga currently has 5,584 active Covid-19 infections with 320 new cases, 306 new recoveries, and 28 new fatalities—all reported last Friday alone.

The breakdown of the Covid-19 infections are as follows:

  • San Fernando – 88 cases
  • Mabalacat – 61 cases
  • Sta. Ana – 24 cases 
  • Arayat – 21 cases
  • Lubao – 20 cases
  • Mexico – 20 cases
  • Porac – 18 cases
  • Magalang – 10 cases
  • Macabebe – 10 cases
  • Sto. Tomas – 10 cases
  • Floridablanca – 6 cases
  • Sta. Rita – 6 cases
  • Apalit – 5 cases
  •  Masantol – 5 cases
  • San Simon – 5 cases
  • Bacolor – 4 cases
  • Candaba – 4 cases
  • San Luis – 3 cases

 

Pampanga has 38,405 confirmed infections, with 30,868 recoveries and 1,952 deaths, according to the Philippine Epidemiology Surveillance Unit and the Pampanga Provincial Information Office’s database.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health Central Luzon revealed that the province has three Covid-19 variants: Alpha (24 cases), Beta (14 cases), and Delta (33 cases), for a total of 71 cases. One Theta Covid-19 variant has also been found.

In Angeles City, three of the said variants of concern have been recorded: Alpha (5 cases), Beta (6 cases), and Delta (7 cases), for a total of 18 cases. Ronald Espartinez
