The first day of the second “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” program has inoculated a total of 953,624 vaccinated people, the Department of Health (DOH) said.
Health Undersecretary and National Vaccination Operations Center chairperson Myrna Cabotaje said during a Laging Handa briefing that Calabarzon, Central Luzon, and Ilocos were among the top performing regions in the country.
“Ang total po nating nabakunahan ay 953,624 people. That is about 83.7% ng ating mga LGUs. While ang concentration natin ay NCR, CAR, I, II, III and IV-A, may mga iba’t-ibang rehiyon din na tumuloy ng kanilang pagbabakuna,” Cabotaje said.
In Calabarzon, 187,000 doses were administered, while Central Luzon reported 168,000 and the Ilocos Region had 66,000.
Calabarzon has already reached 16.59% of its 1,131,000 target for the second round of the national vaccination drive.
In Central Luzon, it has completed 21.32% of its total target 792,084, while the Ilocos Region reported a 32.86% vaccination rate from its 202,053 total target.
Meanwhile, the National Capital Region has administered 52,604 shots from the total target of 324,250.
Eleven regions also conducted vaccination drives amid the onslaught of Typhoon Odette. Some were rescheduled next week due to the storm.
“So we have a total of 388 cities and municipalities out of 160 na hindi nagbakuna,” Cabotaje said.
Cabotaje said that they are in the running to complete the 7 million vaccination target by December 22. Ronald Espartinez
