Over 20,000 health protocol violators have been recorded by the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the first day of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR), as well as its neighboring places. 

PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar shared the breakdown of the 20,511 violators: 5,781 ignored curfew hours, while 14,775 failed to follow the minimum public health standards, such as wearing of face mask, wearing of face shields, and observance of social distancing. 

Metro Manila reported the most number of violators with 4,394, followed by Cavite with 540, which is currently under modified ECQ, with 540.

Laguna posted 471 curfew violators, while Rizal with 370, which is also under MECQ. 

Meanwhile, Bulacan logged 6 curfew violations, which is currently under general community quarantine with heightened restrictions. Ronald Espartinez
