The Philippines’ Covid-19 inter-agency task force (IATF) has eased restrictions on nonessential outbound travel of Filipinos, Palace spokesman Harry Roque announced on Friday.
The ban will be lifted on Oct. 21.
Travelers must present a negative antigen result taken within 24 hours before departure.
Those with tourist visas will be required to submit confirmed roundtrip tickets and necessary travel and health insurance.
They must also execute an immigration declaration acknowledging the risks involved in traveling overseas.
Outbound travelers will be required to follow guidelines of the National Task Force (NTF) on Covid-19 for returning overseas Filipinos.
The IATF on Emerging Infectious Diseases approved the new guidelines in Resolution No. 79.
“The foregoing provisions shall not be interpreted to allow outbound travel by Filipinos to countries where travel restrictions are in place; and finally, this is without prejudice to the exercise of the mandate of the Bureau of Immigration prior to departure,” it said in the resolution.
