The Commission on Elections (Comelec) suspended the voter registration for the 2023 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) and other future polls due to the holiday season.

The poll body said in an advisory that all Comelec offices and satellite registration sites will temporarily cease their operations from December 24 and December 31 pursuant to Resolution No. 10868.

“Likewise, voter registration will be suspended on December 24 and 26, 2022 and January 2, 2023, pursuant to the Memoranda dated 12 and 22 December 2022 of the Office of the Executive Director and the Election and Barangay Affairs Department, respectively,” it added.

December 25 and January 1 will be observed as regular holidays while December 26 was declared a special non-working holiday by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

The registration will resume on January 3, 2023.
