The Yellow Bus Line will serve the new Kidapawan City – General Santos City route.

A newly opened bus route is expected to boost tourism and economic development between the Soccsksargen Region and Maguindanao province in the Bangsamoro autonomous region.

Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph Evangelista said the Yellow Bus Line (YBL) company will start ferrying passengers on July 5 from Kidapawan to General Santos City via M’lang and Tulunan in North Cotabato; the towns of Buluan, Paglas and Mangudadatu in Maguindanao; the towns of President Quirino and Tacurong City in Sultan Kudarat en route to Tantangan, Koronadal City, Tupi and Polomolok in South Cotabato to General Santos City, and vice versa.

Evangelista said in a radio interview that “the opening of new public transport route also signals the opening of the city to local investors.”
One of the priority programs of Department of Transportation, the Kidapawan-General Santos route is expected to connect communities in Mindanao in support of economic and tourism development.

YBL Manager Olimpio Par said that with this new route, it would take three to four hours to travel from Kidapawan to General Santos.
The the regular fare is P230. The fare for students and senior citizens is P200.

Par said 10 brand-new YBL units will ply the route daily, from ‪4:30 a.m.‬ to ‪3 p.m‬.

YBL is hiring of new bus drivers and conductors to serve the new route. (Jojo Mangahis)
