The Department of Tourism (DOTr) on Tuesday said the Metro Rail Transit-Line 3 (MRT-3) serviced 370,276 passengers on June 6, the most since June 1, 2020.

In a Facebook post, the DOTr attributed the high passenger count to MRT-3’s free ride program, which started on March 28.

Each train car of the MRT-3 can be occupied by 394 individuals.

The average number of daily MRT-3 passengers before the pandemic was 250,000 to 300,000.

The DOTr reminded the public that the government’s minimum health protocols should be observed at all times in public transport.

The free ride program is active until June 30. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
