OCTA Research Team fellow Guido David on Tuesday reported that the seven-day Covid-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila decreased to 15 percent as of Oct. 15.

In a tweet, David said the Oct. 15 figure was 2.9 percentage points lower than the 17.9 percent on Oct. 8.

The positivity rate remains three times the World Health Organization’s (WHO) ideal threshold of 5 percent .

Covid-19 reproduction rate in the region was at 1.03 as of Oct. 14, David said.

David said very high positivity rates were observed in Camarines Sur, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, South Cotabato, Tarlac, Zambales. This means positivity rate in the areas were above 20 percent.

The DOH on Tuesday announced the detection of 81 Omicron XBB subvariant cases and 193 XBC variant cases.
