Maguindanao’s Integrated Provincial Health office confirmed Tuesday its first coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) death.
The fatality is a 54 year old female from Sultan Kudarat who was suffering from chronic kidney disease and pulmonary tuberculosis. She has a travel history to Davao City where she had a medical consultation last August 4.
She was admitted at a hospital in Cotabato City on August 17. She suffered a myocardial infarction on the fourth day of her confinement. Her rapid and swab tests both tested positive for Covid-19.
She died due to severe pneumonia.
Local authorities have conducted contact tracing and subjected to swab tests those who had close contact with the fatality. Rommel F. Lopez
