A magnitude 5.1 earthquake shook Magsaysay, Davao del Sur Thursday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tectonic quake’s epicenter was located at 8 kilometers southwest of Magsaysay town in Davao Del Sur. It struck at a depth of 17 kilometers.
Instrumental Intensity V was recorded at Koronadal City, South Cotabato while Instrumental Intensity III was recorded at Kidapawan City, Cotabato and Instrumental Intensity II at Kiamba – South Cotabato and General Santos City.
No damage to property is expected but the Phivolcs warned of impending aftershocks. – Rommel F. Lopez
