Former senator and presidential aspirant Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said since he had seen how graft and corruption is committed, he knows how to end it.

Marcos made the promise during an interview with dzRH.

If elected president, he promised that he would improve the system of checks and balances in the bureaucracy to clear irregularities. 

“Mahaba ang naging karanasan ko bilang public servant. Nakita ko naman kung paano nangyayari ang korupsyon kaya ‘yung checks and balance na tinatawag ng gobyerno, sa ating mga budget, sa ating paggastos sa programa, ay lahat ‘yan ay dapat patibayin,” Marcos said.

“Nauunawaan ko dahil nakikita ko ang korupsyon na nangyayari, nakikita ko kung paano ginagawa. Kaya siguro mas nakakaunawa ako kung paano aayusin ang problema at bigyan ng solusyon ang problema,” he added.

Marcos also said that he would only appoint to his Cabinet those who have no history of corruption.

“Bago tayo kukuha ng tao para uupo sa Kabinete, ay tiyakin naman natin na walang history, walang record ito na katiwalian,” Marcos said.

However, he said he would not have second thoughts appointing members of his own family to a government post if he deemed them fit for the position. 

“The criteria that we should follow is kung sino pinakamagaling na handang tumulong at handang magtrabaho, ‘yan ang ating ilalagay,” Marcos said. Ronald Espartinez
