The low-pressure area (LPA) spotted near Mindanao has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Pagasa said in its latest weather advisory that the LPA was seen at 925 kilometers east of southeastern Mindanao.

The LPA has entered the PAR at around 11:00 am.

However, it is less likely to become a tropical depression.

The LPA is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains over Davao Region, Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos City), Caraga Region, Eastern Visayas, and Palawan.

“Under said conditions, flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible, especially in areas that are highly very highly susceptible to these hazards,” Pagasa said in its advisory.
