Kim Kianna Dy lifted F2 Logistics Cargo Movers after a nerve-frazzling 25-20, 30-28, 23-25, 25-22 cushion over Cignal HD Spikers to secure a shared lead in the Pool B of 2023 Premier Volleyball League Invitational last Saturday.

UAAP MVP Dy was relentless after racking up 23 points, coming from 20 attacks and three blocks to help maintain the unblemished 2-0 slate of the Cargo Movers.

F2 Logistics banked on Dawn Macandili after exceptionally manning the floor, recording 48 digs and 15 receptions.

“We all know that all the teams step up, so we have to step up double. Double efforts pa sa training and the iyong mga nasa loob we have to guide them also,” said Dy.

Despite getting the first two sets, the Cargo Movers fell short in the third set as the HD Spikers managed to catch up with the help of Frances Molina, who fired up off-the-block attacks and a smart toss.

F2 Logistics established a 20-16 lead in the fourth set but Cignal was able to trim it down to one, 22-21, courtesy of a single block of Rachel Daquis to the running attack of Aby Marano.

Ivy Lacsina then registered a cross-court shot and an off-the-block hit to give the Cargo Movers a match point, 24-21.

Cignal tried to bounce back after a successful attack of Chay Troncoso, but Majoy Baron ended the match after blocking Rachel Daquis, 25-22.

Lacsina tallied 13 points and Baron produced nine points from seven attacks and two aces. Marano had eight points.

Molina chipped in 21 points and Daquis had 13 points.

F2 Logistics will face Choco Mucho on July 11 to break the tie, while Cignal will go against Foton.  Gian Rowelle Erenia
