Lawyer Harry Roque is running for a Senate seat in the upcoming 2022 national elections.
The former presidential spokesperson is part of the Peoples’ Reform Party (PRP). He submitted his candidacy on the last day of substitution for the upcoming election.
“Ito na po ang huling araw ko bilang presidential spokesperson. Nais ko maging action man sa Senado,” Roque said in his press briefing.
A video of Davao City Mayor and vice presidential aspirant Sara Duterte endorsing him for his Senate journey was shown at the end of Roque’s press briefing.
“Harry Roque will be our man of action in the Senate. Ibigay natin ang todo at buong suporta sa kanyang kandidatura,” said the mayor.
Earlier, Roque had already expressed his intention to run in the 2022 elections along with Mayor Duterte. Currently, Sara is now eyeing the vice president position. Ronald Espartinez
