Work in government offices is set to resume in areas under the new modified enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) as confirmed by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

President Rodrigo Duterte approved on Monday an inter-agency resolution placing Metro Manila, Laguna and Cebu City under a modified ECQ from May 16 to 31 to continue to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Meanwhile, the Civil Service Commission released the revised interim guidelines for alternative working arrangements each government agency may follow amidst the COVID-19.

Under the guidelines are work-from-home, skeleton workforce, four-day workweek, staggered working hours and other arrangements agency heads might find workable to their office’s functions.

The set of guidelines will be enforced until the state of national emergency has been lifted by Duterte.  (RJ Espartinez)
