Government workers are entitled to free rides at the MRT-3, LRT-2, and PNR on Sept. 19 in celebration of the month-long Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced on Saturday.
The free rides will be part of the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) treats to government workers in celebration of the anniversary.
“The free rides offered to our government workers in our major rail lines is the [DOTr’s] way of honoring them. These civil servants give important contribution and perform indispensable role to nation building,” Transport Secretary Jaime Bautista said.
The free MRT-3 and LRT-2 rides are available from 7 to 9 a.m. and from 5 to 7 p.,m, only.
Meanwhile, the PNR will give free rides to government employees the whole day, the DOTr said.
Government workers must present their IDs as proof of their employment with any government agencies, offices, and instrumentalities to avail of the free rides. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
