The government has allowed farming and fishing activities to continue amid the enhanced community quarantine being enforced throughout Luzon.

In a resolution dated March 24, the interagency task force dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic exempted all “healthy” farmers, fishers and agribusiness workers from the quarantine, but subject to skeletal workforce and social distancing measures.

Also allowed to operate were agricultural supply stores and veterinary.

The task force reiterated that the delivery of agricultural supplies and food packaging and manufacturing materials should remain unhampered.

Manufacturers of medicines and medical supplies were allowed to fully operate, while exporters of these products must allocate 80 percent of production to domestic use, the task force said. (PressONE.ph)
