CLAIM: There is a hidden waterfall in Bayanan, Muntinlupa
RATING: FALSE

A Facebook user falsely claimed that there is a waterfall hidden in Bayanan, Muntinlupa, near Ayala Mall South Park on April 8, 2023.

The post contained deceptive statements such as “Medyo liblib lang yung lugar but sigurado sulit” (the place is secluded but it’s worth the trip) and “[I]sang sakay lang kahit san ka galing” (it’s just one ride wherever you’re coming from).

The post also mentioned a “fee” and the “direction” to the supposed tourist attraction.

Under the misleading caption were four images of falls from different locations. The post has received more than 900 reactions, 138 comments, and 936 shares.

Based our search on Google Maps, there is no falls located near Ayala Mall South Park.

The first photo in the Facebook post is that of the Daranak Falls in Tanay, Rizal. It was featured on the official site of the Municipality of Tanay as a tourist attraction.

The second and third photo is the Tumalog Falls in Oslob, Cebu, featured in many travel agency websites (see here and here).

The fourth photo is the Ka Treasure Water Terraces Mountain Resort in Argao, Cebu. Angel Marie Samonte, Corleone Ibarra Subiela, Paul Andrei Luares and Niomi Kim Odulio
