Eastern Visayas posted a surge in coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases after limited face-to-face classes were permitted, according to the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd).

No further details were given on how many were infected.

However, De Vera mentioned that the said limited face-to-face will be paused once a student gets infected with Covid-19.

Medical and allied-health courses have been granted the permission to conduct limited face-to-face classes.

De Vera said  there are 73 higher education institutions in the country that are currently implementing limited face-to-face classes. Ronald Espartinez
