President Rodrigo Duterte will participate in the 37th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit that will be held virtually on Nov. 12 to 15.
A statement from Malacañan Palace said that the president would exchange views with his counterparts on matters related to Covid-19 response and recovery efforts, future direction of Asean community building and regional and international developments.
“He will advance Philippine positions on public health emergencies cooperation, regional economic integration, migrant workers’ rights, climate change, disaster risk reduction management, counter-terrorism and the South China Sea issue,” the statement read.
More than 10 outcome documents are expected to be adopted during the four-day summit in relation to Asean cooperation and preparedness for public health emergencies.
Duterte will be joined by Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez and Social Welfare Secretary Rolando Bautista.
