President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the vaccination of the general Filipino population, including adolescents, in October 2021, the Palace said on Tuesday.

To date, the country has received 69,699,340 Covid-19 vaccine doses, of which 43,933,886 have been administered.

The doses were enough to fully vaccinate over 20 million Filipinos.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the Philippines might receive up to 100 million Covid-19 vaccine doses in October.

With the doses, Galvez said he expected the country’s number of administered doses to increase by 55 million next month.
