President Rodrigo Duterte has named Palace Communications chief Martin Andanar as acting Palace spokesman, a day after Karlo Nograles was named Civil Service Commission (CSC) chief.

Andanar has been the chief of the Presidential Communications Operations Office since 2016 when Duterte took office.

He is a former news anchor and radio commentator.

He replaced Nograles who took his oath as CSC chairman on Monday.

Two posts formerly held by Nograles remain vacant: cabinet secretary and co-chair of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
