The Department of Health (DOH) said that the PinasLakas special vaccination days will be extended to October 1 due to Typhoon Karding.

DOH officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire shared the announcement after the DOH suspended all PinasLakas efforts in the the National Capital Region (NCR) and the rest of Luzon on Monday due to Karding.

The original start date of the special vaccination days program nationwide was from September 26 to 30. While the vaccination drive was postponed in Luzon, it pushed through, however, in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

Vergeire shared that over 66,500 people in Visayas and Mindanao were given first booster shots during the first day of the program.

Meanwhile, the DOH’s data showed that around 19.2 million Filipinos have already received booster shots with 73 million people completing their Covid-19 vaccination.
