The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced that 483 Filipinos working abroad have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), pushing the tally to 17,064.

The DFA also confirmed seven new recoveries and seven new fatalities. 

Today’s new infections is the highest single-day report this month according to the DFA. The spike is caused by the recent increase in infections in the Middle East. 

This is also the third consecutive day where the DFA reported new Covid-19 infections abroad. 

Currently, there are 5,921 Filipinos undergoing medical treatment. 10,077 of the total tally have recovered while 1,066 have died. 

A total of 91 countries and territories have reported Filipinos infected with Covid-19.

The breakdown is as follows: 1,057 in the Asia Pacific, 898 in Europe, 3,881 in the Middle East and Africa, and 85 in the Americas. Ronald dela Cruz
