The Department of Education (DepEd) has launched a series of webinars for parents and teachers that aims to explain child rights in the different learning landscape brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.

DepEd said the webinar series, with the theme, “Isulong! Karapatan ng Bata sa Panahon ng Covid-19,” would be conducted throughout September and on the first week of October.

“It aims to capacitate school leaders, teachers, and parents on child rights in education, child protection in education in the time of Covid-19, and positive discipline in education for parents and guardians,” DepEd said in a statement.

The 14-part webinar series had its first session on Monday, Sept. 7. 

Child rights sessions will be conducted on Sept. 8, 14 and 15.

Positive discipline in education episodes for parents and guardians will be broadcast on Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30 and October 7.

Child protection sessions will be conducted from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2.

All episodes of the series will be live-streamed on DepEd Philippines’ Facebook page.

DepEd said it had partnered with Unicef-Philippines, Stairway Foundation and Save the Children Philippines for the webinars.
