Former Bayan Muna congressman Neri Colmenares has been endorsed as the newest senatorial bet of opposition coalition 1Sambayan.
Colmenares confirmed the endorsement during a virtual event last Friday.
1Sambayan also endorsed for senator Senator Risa Hontiveros, detained Senator Leila de Lima, former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, human rights lawyer Chel Diokno, former Baguio Rep. Teddy Baguilat, lawyer Alex Lacson, and labor leader Sonny Matula.
Colmenares announced in the same event that the Makabayan coalition is supporting the candidacy of presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate Senator Kiko Pangilinan for the May national elections.
He noted the tandem’s similar positions with regards to the Covid-19 pandemic response, policies for workers, farmers and other sectors, as well as on issues concerning the environment and the West Philippine Sea. Ronald Espartinez
